On November 15th, 2008, the Rosedale High School Club went on a tour of Fordham's campus in the Bronx. Janine and Alanna, both Juniors of Fordham, offered their assistance as tour guides. Our first stop was a classroom at Fordham, which has an average class size of about 20 students. There our tour guide showed us an orientation video about Fordham University. It was a very educational video that illustrated the life of a Fordham student.

One of our favorite stops was Queen's Court, which is established to house first-year students. We even got a look into an everyday dorm room. Special thanks to the students in Queen's Court!

Our next stop was Keating Hall. We learned that it was built in the 1930s; also, that it is the center of the campus. It has even been used for filming a number of famous movies over the years. This hall houses the art studio, where we saw pieces of art done by the Fordham students themselves.

Keating also houses a lecture hall called "Keating First." There is also a seal and it is said that if you step on it you will fail your first semester. Be careful not to step on it!
After a long tour, our final stop, and one of the most interesting, was the Lunch Hall, where we even got the chance to eat the food.
Question:
Were you excited to visit Fordham University? Why?
Answers:
Yes, because this was my first college tour.
Of course. It is an excellent opportunity for our high school students.
Question:
What was your favorite part of the tour?
Answers:
The lunch hall, because I got a chance to eat college food.
The dorm rooms, because it is an influencing factor when picking a college.
Thank you, Fordham, and Janine and Alanna, for this tour. We had a great time!

The tour of Fordham looks like it was fun. I hear they are really generous when it comes to financial aid. How as the food?
Any more tour of colleges planned?
